Playing with Print

Jacket: Missguided   Top: Missguided   Skirt: Missguided (old)   Bag: Primark   Shoes: Miss Selfridge  (Both old)

This is a more casual look for me, with it being something I'd easily wear to college or for a day out.

Described as 'black and white leopard print' on the website when I bought it, I took the plunge in trying to incorporate animal print into my wardrobe - something that is often a bold look to pull off. However, with the skirt being an interesting twist on a risky fashion choice, the animal print is subtle which I think is a nice touch. I paired the skirt with a white turtleneck and my teal biker jacket. Pairing print with a bright colour can be quite a statement, but I think the teal jacket finishes off the look nicely. The black bag and heeled Chelsea boots are both essentials in my wardrobe and help to complete the outfit. It could alternatively be worn with knee high boots or a pair of strappy heels depending on occasion or weather.

Grey Skies

Coat: Next   Dress: Missguided   Bag: Nine West   Shoes: Primark  (All old)

After not posting for a few weeks, it's nice to finally be writing again!

This outfit is very simplistic in my opinion. Unlike some of my previous posts, it doesn't have many bright colours. Fortunately, the colder months favour darker colours so this outfit is fitting. The grey turtleneck shift dress was very shapeless, so I added the tan belt to make it more flattering which, in my opinion, I think it achieves. I added a black coat over the shoulder to compliment the dress. However, it could be worn normally as a flattering alternative. I finished the look off with basic accessories - black and white heels and my black shoulder bag (it can also be worn as a clutch). The accessories of this outfit are very inter-changeable depending on how dressy you would like it. You could wear it with knee high or even ankle boots with a pair of black tights. That would certainly be a warmer alternative to what I have worn here!
